Our ADHD evaluation is more than a checklist. It is a structured diagnostic interview that carefully examines your symptom history, how those symptoms affect your daily life, and other possible explanations before arriving at a diagnosis. Our goal is to provide an accurate, evidence-based assessment not a rushed conclusion.

Diagnosis Before Prescription

Medication is not prescribed before a thorough evaluation and are not based on self-reported symptoms alone, prior chart diagnosis without review. A proper, current clinical diagnosis comes first, every time.

Looking Beyond the Symptoms

Difficulty concentrating is a symptom, not a diagnosis.

Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, sleep disorders, burnout, thyroid conditions, vitamin deficiencies, and other medical or psychiatric conditions can all produce symptoms that closely resemble ADHD.

A comprehensive evaluation includes a careful differential diagnosis to identify the most likely cause before making treatment recommendations.

At NextWave Psychiatry, we take the time to evaluate the whole picture, not just a symptom checklist because an accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective treatment.
